Meet Lucy Dahill

Lucy is the founder of the Why Be You Project.

Working as a facilitator and youth worker and currently a PhD student, Lucy's study has been focused on what behaviours are taken on in adolescence that lead to some of the lifestyle illnesses that cause so much harm later in life.

As a parent and educator, Lucy has embraced her responsibility as a role model to young people by supporting them to build self-esteem and self-worth as foundational life skills. Drawing on her life experience, wisdom and way of living Lucy works with parents, teachers and youth workers in how they can positively influence change in a young persons life.

With a background in media production, presenting, complementary health, youth work, local community public health programs and projects, Lucy bring this richness of life experience to the Why Be You workshops and presentations.

"I often look at young people and wonder how they must see us - whether we offer them inspiration or not when it comes to being an adult. I realised that if we are to have engaged, active citizens in the future we have to walk by example and support young people to appreciate who they are in all they do. To do this we have to build a way of living that can work hard without leading to mental and physical burnout. "
